Default Huuuuge overboost issue

Hi,I bought a x reg turbo 2000 wagon with faulty mass air flow metre so replaced that and also found a vacuum leak so swapped the vacuum hoses pipe for pipe,as I got to boost solenoid the bottom pipe wasnt connected to anywhere and also there was a pipe from compressor straight to turbo and no restrictor pill in it and no t piece to boost solenoid it was running 1.1bar but misfiring at 0.5bar,I today fitted all vacuum hoses correctly to diagrams on here and also fitted a 1.2m restrictor pill between compressor and t-piece and now it's running brilliantly but I accelerated and it hit nearly 1.8 bar boost and turbo was screaming and settled at 1.5 so didn't repeat.i looked on here and said to check ecu and I found a sp sti ecu there and as I not sure about any of this i was wondering WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON haha.i dont want the engine and turbo to go bang.sorry for waffling on and any help appreciated.

Before misfire at 0.5 then shot to 1.1bar with no restrictor pill

After putting vacuum pipes correctly and fitting 1.2m restrictor pill.

Probably fitted with the Prodrive Performance Pack upgrade ECU.

Is it fitted with the rest of the package?

Has the turbo been changed, as it sounds as if it was just running wastegate pressure before you changed the piping.

Could be a problem with the boost solenoid.

it would boost to 1.1bar but as it hit 0.5 it would misfire and go past it so not sure what it would be.
oh and it's got all those parts for the ppp, still has cat down pipe though.i only payed 500 for the car lol so I think it's worth saving as this is the only.issue.

As above pics of boost solenoid and pipes and the position of the pill. As Don says if pipe went straight from compressor nipple to actuator it was running wastegate pressure. It has possibly be mapped with a three port in which case there would be no pill. That doesn't explain it running wastegate pressure.

This is the solenoid, the 90degree bend pioe is going to air pipe after maf and the bottom pipe is going to t piece between turbo and actuator, ive removed the restrictor pill now and it boosts to just over 1bar.its always run over 1 bar but when it hit 0.5 it was juddering and misfire then it would hit 1bar.

Restrictor was in middle of right hand vacuum pipe between tpiece and compressor

Well as you probably know that's right. Have you checked the bcs or cleaned it ? A few more pictures of the routing of the pipes from the turbo to the bcs would help.

Still can't see properly the pipe coming from the T piece should go to the side port on the solenoid. Connect the black test connectors under the wheel and see can you hear the boost solenoid clicking remove pipe and pour some carb cleaner etc down it and hold above bcs solenoid with test connectors still connected. As long as its electrically ok it won't throw a code but could still be blocked.

Cant remember exactly but iirc the ppp had a fuel cut defender.
Pull the 10mm screws of the cover plate till we see which wires it is spliced into.

I also done what you said earlier with the boost solenoid.the pipe is from the side to the turbo t piece.the restrictor pill was in correct place.
even with standard ecu it's the same issue.

The only issue now is with restrictor pill in it goes to 2bar boost and without it it judders at 0.5 bar and then hits 1bar-1.2bar and settles at 1.there isn't no boost or fuel cut just boost its **** off.my neighbours must think I'm nuts I been backwards and forwards with these pics all day lol.

If I were you I would take photos of what you have now and splice the wires back to original and go from there.

Well I'll be taking that off 2moro.ive never messed about with subarus before so I'm useless but I'm presuming the wires it is spliced into will be colour coded and just reconnect them.cheers for the replies.stupid ebay crap, not sure why people have to mess about with junk obviously dont know you get what you pay for.the sti sp ecu should still have a boost cut on it shouldn't it.i presume that black junk box is making it cut out the boost cut or am I waffling on again haha

Right then I cut out the Egay 700bhp tuning box worth 9grand and nothing changed

With the sti sp ecu and the standard y7 ecu the server issue
Without restrictor pill its 1bar and with it in it's just under 2bar.there is no boost or fuel cut on either so I aont sure what's going on.
