Default V1 Classic - ESL or Alcatek ECU?

Interested in people's opinions on which of the two they would use and why, for a competition car. I've got both in my possession so need to make a choice. I'll also be asking the guy I intend to have it mapped by, before anyone starts!

As it happens, I'm keen to learn how to map my own car myself, but I don't believe I will have enough time to do this to an adequate (safe) level before the season starts.

Mods will include RCM oil pump, Yellows, FPR, FMIC, oil cooler, induction kit, stainless headers and trick uppipe, decat etc..

Probably Tim, but that's not set in stone yet. Won't be ready for about six weeks.

Nah, long gone that. I've got the V1 WRX and I've got a rolling V4 Type R shell as far as projects go

Any good resources for getting started with that? I'll need to buy a cable from Andy Stevens and get the software if I go that route. Also thinking I could do with a wideband setup to map safely?

Yes you'll need a wideband and ideally some detcans.
The manual is free to download from their site, defiantly need to have a good read through that.
Andy has run a few courses down south, has also being saying he might do some online stuff in the near future @Andy Stevens ?
