Blob Eye Alarm Issue
Morning all,
I am hoping someone can help or confirm my suspicions about an issue with my factory alarm on my 2003 Blob Eye WRX STi. Yesterday I went to drive the car and the button on the Subaru key did not unlock the car. I tried the spare key and the same issue. I tested the batteries and both the just below full charge (I'd changed these in the past 3 months). I thought, no problem, I'll unlock the door with the key and that would disarm the alarm. Nope, it sets it off and doesn't stop. I disconnected the battery and searched the internet for help. It was obvious that I needed the 4 digit PIN for the alarm and needed to enter it on the keypad in the car. My Subaru dealer provided me with this code and I tried it this morning. It didn't work. I can only assume a previous owner had changed it. I phoned Subaru to ask them what I can do and they booked me in for an appointment in 2.5 weeks when their Alarm guy is back from holiday. That is a long time without a car and I was hoping that there was something else I could try before then?
Thanks in advance.

Standard sigma? Any new masts popped up around you? Can interfere with the alarm. If there is a mast round you, push the car away and see if it works, or use a hell of a lot of tinfoil to cover the car and try the fob from inside lol

It is the standard Sigma. There aren't any new masts constructed recently but I did try covering up my security lights movement sensor just in case it was that. But, I've parked in the same spot before on my driveway with no issues.

Thanks for your reply. The car battery was changed a few months ago and I have tested it and the voltmeter reads 12v. Both key fobs have 3v on their battery.
