I've just read the thread on Metasat location. I didn't know Subarus had location tracking fitted. It looks like it's on my 08 hatch STI?
What do you folks thjnk of it?
If it is, how do I confirm/activate/interogate it?
How much does it cost to run?
Are tracking systems obsolete now GPS blockers are readily available?
Big brother is a hig hate of mine. What are everyones thoughts on having your every move monitored?
BTW thanks for everyones hard work on this and in this forum.

MetaSat fitted to models between 2007 and 2014. For 2015 models (latest WRX STI) they moved to the Scorpion Automotive tracker system.

Now that it's working again - does what it says on the tin, but there are better systems out there.

You would need to get in touch with Subaru UK via a dealer to check and have system transfered into your name/mobile phone number.
The relative paperwork would have been supplied to the original owner on purchase as it came with a years free subscription.
The only way to interogate it is via text messenger, although further data is available for Octotelematics "alarm room" in Italy.
The scorpion system is much more comprehensive
How much does it cost to run?
€100 per year minimum
If you've read the other thread you will have gathered that Subaru HO staff have little or no interest in helping out with the recent problems with the Metasat system.
These mainly occurred following a move of OctoTelematics UK Head Office to London last year and various connections being lost in the process.
