Red face GPS Trackers - do any tell you they arent working?

I have a Navtrak device fitted. Seems i've been driving round for 3 months unaware that the unit isnt working

I'm in communications with Navtrak about this.

I'm thinking of getting a Tracker or Trackstar (or similar) installed instead rather than pay to get the unit "fixed".

My question is this - on any of these "GPS" type systems - do you ever get told if the system is not working or do you just do as i have and drive around thinking your fine only to discover it wasnt working?

Cheers,

Jza

smartrack.

their system automatically does a system check every 45 days. This sends a message to the control centre which lets them know everything is working fine.

With their system you also have the option of the Keyguard system. This requires you to put in a pin number(using a small remote) to deactivate the tracker. Failing to do this would result in you getting a phone call to say that your system was active (and there for also meaning the system was working).

This Smarttrack - if its not working then how will it send the system check on the 45th day? Are you saying they EXPECT the call otherwise they assume its not working?

Sounds interesting

Navtrack cost £17.49 a month and they want to charge me for excessive "false alarms" if i test the system....

Navtrack have always been good for me. Yes there have been a few problems over the years, but they have always fixed it.

If you are ok with electronics and know where the tracker is, they may be able to sort it out with you on the phone. They are very helpful like that.

Yeah, they EXPECT the call and if it doesn't call in then they can be pretty sure that it's not working..
