Default Metasat GPA800

Chaps hope you can help. I've recentley bought a 56 uk sti. The car has a very early Metasat system installed but I cant get the thing active as the last owner did not register it. I have a local dealer trying to find out if I can get it up and running by Octo Telmatics who install the systems for Subaru UK say they have never come across this as there are only a hand full of sti cars with this system and they tell me that it looks like once the system is not active for a year it cannot be reactivated and I need to install a new system.
Surley all it would take is a new sim card with credit to get it going

Cheers

You have to pay for credits on a yearly bassis ,works out about £100 a year,if it hasnt been used for 12 months they(telematics)ask for a fee to reactivate it.I think only subaru dealers can get this done coz i tried on line with no luck.

Sorry forgot to add in the 07 models you just reactivate, not needing a new system.
