Hi ,

i am a newbie so go easy. I have just bought a Subaru wrx 04 plate, I am doing a bit of work to it and am looking for help to find out what a part is called. I thought it was the front sub frame, but it sits just behind the front sub frame and holds the anti roll bars

Crossmember is right. That component is more commonly known as a sub frame, not a wishbone. The wishbone or transverse link (9) is on the other end of the ARB and is connected via drop link or stabilisier link (12).
