Bleeding PAS
Forgive me but I’m completely a miss with this.
Ive never bled a pas system without turning the engine on and then lock to lock...
Today I read a post where someone put do this without the engine on to reduce risk to the pump.
I asked for a link and credit to the guy he sent me it.
What do Subaru say.

You should be topping up with fresh as the old comes out, while the engine is running, so at no point does the reservoir run out and introduce an air lock.
If you're nervous you can remove the belt from the pump and use a rachet on the front of the pump to move the fluid round. It takes a while though. And you'll still need to bleed the system afterwards.
