Default Gdb sti fuel purge?

Hi guys. Recently picked up a jdm sti blob. It had the common fuel rail hose leaks so I’ve pulled the inlet manifold out. In doing so broke the small nipple on what I think people refer to as the fuel purge solenoid sensor while trying to get the hose off it. However the lower connection on it was already missing with no other pipes visible nearby that could’ve gone to it. Is it possible my car has already had the purge removed? If I replace with a new sensor what does the bottom connection do? Like if it’s an outlet won’t it **** out? Not entirely sure how it works thanks
