Default Oil recommendations

Hi Chaps,

I'm just about to change the oils on my JDM blobeye. It's the DCCD badboy, what oil would you guys reckon is the best to go for. I'll be doing both diffs, engine and gearbox.

Is it also worth doing the spark plugs as well?

Cheers guys.

the front diff is inside the gearbox casing so you only need gearbox oil and rear diff oil

Hi,

You will need a 75w-90, we find the most popular brands for Impreza's are the Motul Gear300 and the Millers CRX NT Plus. What year is your Impreza? As some need LS oils for the diff and others don't depending on what year they are.

We do spark plugs as well.

Cheers,

Guy

For one of those 75w-90 for the gearbox, either the Motul Gear300 75w-90 or the Millers CRX NT+ 75w-90. For the diffs you need an ls oil so either the Motul Gear300 LS75w-90 or the Millers CRX NT+ LS 75w-90 you can find them all here https://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-673-75w-90-gear-oil.aspx

For spark plugs I am a fan of Denso, the IK20TT are good https://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-92159-d...ug-ik20tt.aspx

Cheers,

Guy

Whilst I'm at it what would you recommend for the engine? Of course its been tweaked and running at 425bhp for 2Ltr engine!!!

Also what quantities of each oil should I buy?

5ltr is enough for an oil change, at 425bhp if you use it with plenty of spirit then a good 10w-50 synthetic is the top choice. Most popular is the Fuchs Titan Race Pro S 10w-50 and the Millers CFS NT+ 10w-50 here https://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-659-10w50-engine-oil.aspx

Genuine Subaru filter here https://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-73744-s...il-filter.aspx

And you get scoobynet discount on all of this.

Cheers,

Guy

Hi Guy,
I'm just putting the order in now on the website:
5 Ltrs of Fuchs 10w-50
1 Ltr of Millers CRX NT+ 75W-90
1 Ltr of Millers CRX NT+ LS 75W-90
X4 Denso spark plugs
X1 Subaru oil filter.

Will this be suitable?

for that money simply buy the higher quality BLACK JDM spec genuine Subaru filter....................and personally you want NGK spark plugs, have seen various issues with other brands

as said above the guys at AS Performance will give the right info & price you need

Yes spot on, for plugs if you wanted to go NGK then these are good https://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-64113-n...sparkplug.aspx

Gearbox oil capacity is 4.1ltr and diff is 1ltr.

Cheers,

Guy
