Surely you will need the correct ECU and wiring loom as well

only way around it is an aftermarket ecu like syvecs OR fit 2.0 heads from your blobeye to the 2.5 block

I believe JT Innovations do a loom - iv messaged Tim to see options.
I will swap heads if it comes to it - which is a PITTA as time and expence plus then my EJ207 JDM engine isnt complete to sell.

to be fair you would be better off with the big port heads on your new engine and sell your jdm bottom end for around £1k and then sell the 2.5 heads for maybe £500

Depends what your power goal is ! If you have 2.5 heads then they a perfectly good for 500/600 bhp should you wish .

Why don’t you buy the Ecu that was fitted to the engine?
