Powdercoating Inlet Manifold Advice
Hi All,
So I'm waiting on a 2nd Inlet manifold for my 2006 Wrx Sti Impreza, sourced from Matty @ MB Developments
I will be getting this powder coated to match my samco hose kit along with Front Strut, Perrin Radiator Shroud, Belt Shroud and Perrin Cold Air Intake. What precautions are needed as to not damage the engine (E.G dust etc entering the engine upon fitment)

Suspicion is that residual media killed this engine:

So make sure it's very clean before re-assembly and that no crap from the engine bay gets in while it's open.

I had mine ice blasted but it wasn't enough to fully remove the old powder coat but propably would be enough on the factory paint.
So I had it glass blasted but no matter how well you tape it some of it will get inside. I washed it with a pressure washer for at least 30 min, left it to a engine builder who had a cleaning tank and after that one more time with the pressure washer.
I actually chose not to paint it this time.
