Default Engine cover damage...help please?

Hey wondering if anyone can help.

Bought a 2007 legacy which had been sent for a couple things to be done in york were it was purchased. I'm from lanarkshire in Scotland so it's quite a trek.

Basically, car was running perfect then after a three hour journey coming to an end off the motorway, I begin to brake and something sounds wrong. Stopped the car and looked under the car, unknown damage to the sump cover? I didn't hear or recall anything to cause this damage so that's why Im puzzeled.

Is this a simple fix? Does anyone know where I can source a part to replace it? Should I be concerned about other damage?

No liquid is leaking from the car.

all help much appreciated, thanks.

Looks as if the front retaining bolts were not refitted allowing the air to pull it out at the front and wear it away on the road.

depending upon model, it could be either

56410AG004/56410AG005 (same as STI Hatch and Saloon MY08-13

56410AG122
or
56410AG142

Thanks again!

I did manage to take this off the car today and I got the part number. A quick Google search didn't have much answers, would you happen to know where I can source it? 56440AG002 is the part.

Thanks

Try ICP. If they can't help, there are a number of specialist Subaru breakers about who can.

56440AG002 is not listed in any of the parts databases I have, so can only assume it is an internal part number and relates to the bare moulding without the attachments (hole closures and fibreglass lining etc.).

Having googled it, many items listed relate it to the Hatch onwards and BP5 legacy undercover as I quoted but starting with version 56410AG002 onwards (the last digit increments to indicate new versions of the same - latest is 005)
This russian example quotes both part numbers - https://autotechnica.su/subaru/legac...0x-2006-94228/
This clubwrx.net post confirms this also - https://www.clubwrx.net/forums/general-maintenance-troubleshooting-accidents/134331144-08-hatch-engine-under-tray.html

If you are looking for new, then a Dealer would be the first port of call (to at least get a price)
You can order from Europe and only pay the usual VAT and shipping.........
https://www.originparts.de/index.php...ram=56410AG005 (price shown includes VAT but not shipping)
You can order from the US on ebay using their global Shipping option eg:- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OEM-2008-...UAAOSwb9Bay7Cp
The above item is interesting in that if you zoom over the picture of the underside of the cover you can see the "56440" part number

Someone probably lost the bolts and used cable ties. Which eventually failed whilst you were driving. Seen it happen before.
