for seemingly no reason at all, my key stopped behaving about two days ago so now it no longer unlocks the car via the keyfob button. so if i were to open my subaru's doors manually by physically inserting the key into the door, this sets the alarm off. this also prevents me from being able to lock the car again with this method as i would be unable to turn clockwise or anti-clockwise.
i've tried googling for the answer and i found a thread from 2012 on another site, one user suggested using the keypad - however i don't have the code for it as i've literally just bought it two weeks ago and i don't believe it was included in the manual.


what i've done thus far is change the battery in the key fob. this however has not worked at all, so i'm rather stuck.

 

Did the car come with 2 keys?

If so try using the second key. And let us know how you get on.
