Default Boost cut issue in sports sharp

I’ve just bought an 09’ hatch sti.

One thing I didn’t check when buying the car was how it boosted in sport sharp mode. The boost violently cuts off when accelerating hard.

I’ve ran a scan with freeSSM and comes up with no errors.

The car runs perfect in intelligent and sport modes.

One thing i was wondering is that the car has been fitted with a 3” exhaust with sports cat, all else is standard. Could this cause it to overboost and hence the fuel cut?

I'm not sure if it is of any use to you but I had an identical issue when I changed some vac pipes and accidentally removed the one with the restriction pill in it. maybe check over your vac pipes around the turbo.

if its still running a standard map but with a 3" exhaust with Sport Cat then that'd be your problem

Thanks for the reply guys, I thought it may have been the exhaust. I just didn’t want to book it in if it was going to be a waste of time.

Lets hope the damage isnt done, these engines arent the best with standard pistons, and even suffer from aggressive limiter when standard, so this will have magnified the issue, pray its all ok.

Knowing my luck then probably!

I’ll get it booked in for a map asap!
