I've attached some pics of my gearbox after I stripped it. Happened in 3rd gear at about 5500rpm. What would the main reason been for this to happen?

 

Which model? Ty52's are weak ty54 better but both 5 speeds are weak at bigger power,due to weak casing I believe and if you're not mechanically sympathetic.
6 speeds are much stronger boxes.

The Rig (member) did exactly the same iirc,as have many others,have a search of the forum,you'll see plenty of this sort of problem.

 

TY752VN3BA that's the gearbox number. Didn't half go with bang haha. It's not done bad been boosting at 23psi for ages now

 

Yeh i missed off the 7. 752's notoriously weak.
1.6 bar so you must be close or over 350bhp? It is the torque which will kill a box but 350 is on the limit of 'most' 5 speeds.

 

Not sure of bhp. Not had it on rolling road just set up with AFR gauge. I'll 6 speed it when I blow the replacement up lol
