Default Impreza classic refitting cat.

Hi guys
So having had a bit of hassle come MOT time I've bitten the bullet and decided to put a cat back on my 2000my Classic, this has thrown up a few questions. The car is running a stand alone Simtek ecu but as far as I'm aware has never been mapped as such I'm unsure if the twin maps it's running will work properly with a cat back in. The sports cat I have on order to replace the de-cat down pipe, has two bosses presumably for o2 or lambda sensors, does my 2000 my car need these sensors connected? I'm assuming yes.
Cheers guys
Ds

It should have one connected. My mate just had his Impreza mapped. I think one of the mappers said it needs to be connected. But I think Andy car mapped my mates with none. Will have to double check. What cell sports cat you go for?

The cat is a 200cpi unit so long as I get the sensors in I think it should work, I plan on taking the CAT out again afterwards, I’m just concerned about what sensors have to plug in where and even if my car has the cable and connectors in place.

Thanks for the feedback, part of my problem is I can’t find a friendly MOT garage☹️
Does anybody have any thoughts on what sensors I will need in the down pipe? I’ve heard of o2 and Lambda, are these the same?

Hi Ash when you fitted your Cat what sensors did you use?
From what I can see there is a o2 sensor needed after the CAT, but not sure what's needed before the cat?
