Removing and refitting sideskirts Classic model
Hello
I am newbie to DIY on my car so looking for some advice.
I am trying to learn about my car and the best way is to give it a go myself.
I have a set of aftermarket sideskirts to fit on my 1999 subaru impreza turbo but not entirely sure about how to remove the original and re-fit the new C-west ones ?
Any advice would be appreciated as seriously I am a novice.
Thanks in advance.
Kris

First off, are the new ones fibreglass? If so, my strongest advice is NOT to fit them, sell them on.
If you MUST do it:
There are push in clips at both ends, pick the centres out with a sharp point and remove the clips. You will probably need new clips, try ebay, trim clips. Now working along the bottom, remove all the bolts.
Warning: They will be VERY rusty and will almost certainly destroy some, if not most, of their inserts. The inserts can be bought from Scoob dealers, I suggest you order some, they WERE about 50p each, which means they will now be around £2 each
Any bolts that just turn, they arte destroyed, you have to keep turning and turning until you can pull it out.
When replacing, replace ALL bolts with stainless roofing bolts, available from www.yell.com, enter "bolt and nut stockist", or try Screwfix who used to do them.
And when it all goes **** up, or your new skirts are covered in white pock marks, remember I begged you not to do it........
