Hey guys, I've just bought a WRX STI v-limited that was just exported from Japan. The car came with no owner manual or paperwork so I'm not 100% on what oil grade to use for the 2.0L twinscroll turbo.

The dealer didn't seem to know much about cars at all but said they put 10w60 in to motor in the service just prior to me buying it. Is that a safe grade to use and if not, what grade should I swap it out for? Don't want to mess up my motor a week after ownership.

Nothing to say regarding your oil but hi to another V-Limited owner Not many of us in the UK, believed to be about a handful.

I've had mine for about 18 months now

oil quality is just as important as the actual grade used but also factor in your driving style / use

in general terms a full synth 5w40 would be ideal for "normal" use and then a 10w50 or possibly 10w60 for something far more aggressive / track style..........

Same situation just got a sti v4 jdm wagon no paperwork for oil etc . Ej20 . What oil do you put in for the turbo . Vf24 turbo checked dipstick looks low not a clue what grade oil u add to the dipstick but told old owner used 10 w 60 engine block
