Default Problem with bugeye wrx

Hi guys I have been noticing a problem with boosting on my wrx it's running a td04 std and it just doesn't seem.to be boosting much at all and the car get very hot when trying to.boost yet the temperature on the engine is completely normal.
I have been researching it and some say it could be a blocked up pipe do you think this could be the reason

Could be any number of things mate. Boost solenoid, MAF, split vacuum hose etc. Check all your vacuum hoses first as it doesn't cost anything. It only takes a small pin-***** and you'll loose boost.

The hose that goes from the solenoid to the air intake goes very brittle over time and can snap. So be wary when examining hoses.

It just seems the car is roasting hot so much that if I wind my window down I can feel the heat coming off of it yet the temperature gauge is fine

They do run relatively hot as standard. If the temp gauge is showing it's ok, then I'd go with that. When you've been driving and stop, you can see the heat coming out from the scoop, that's normal

Ok well was just checking because of the turbo can't push past the up pipe cat it will create a lot of pressure which will make the turbo not boost as much and make the exhaust side very hot that was my only reasoning behind it because it's logical in my head lol. Plus I heard it's a common thing on bugeye too have blockages in the up pipe cat

Right all vacuum hoses are good and boost solenoid is nice and clean but I have stood behind it and let someone give it a good rev and it sounds dead silent considering it has a racking great big exhaust it's silent

In regards to 'failing to start', was it turning over or completely dead?

right think I sussed it pulled everything off her and realised the main intake pipe bolting onto the turbo was ripped as it joined the turbo . Replaced today with a new one but when I even slightly cover when i say slightly I mean maybe 25% of the intake with my hand it stalls.
Now I have had 2 other impreza before and they normally suck your hand over the intake but this is just lame

I seriously am thinking that because the cat is blocked it can't blow out so it can't suck in

other than that have you checked the turbo?
have you taken it off the car?

Could the turbo be seized or just not working?
td04 are only 50 quid.

Did you reset the ecu after replacing the maf?
Have you checked the intercooler Ypipe for splits?

If it is blocked downpipe and you fit a de cat one, you will have to get it remapped, unless you can find a 2nd hand standard one to put on.

Changed for heat 7 plugs made no difference car was still ****ed so changed all the vacuum hoses this evening just to be sure no change. But I accidentally knocked the cable on the maf sensor out the back and it changed its tune .

Cut the maf cable and 're soldered it now we have maximum boost bloody hell all that for a ****ed cable 👹👹👹👹👹
