Default Possible over boost ???

I fitted some defi gagues to the car at the week end and went for a run out to test them and noticed that the boost gauge would climb as high as 1.8 bar possibly more.
I have been driving the car for 5 months now with no problems but now I'm worried something is wrong somewhere?

Car is my99 uk turbo with vf35, fmic, 440, walbro and 3 in down pipe.
Has had an ecutek at some point previous to be buying the car.
The only thing I've changed since then is a 3" blitz Nur spec.

Could this be the problem? I no it will need remapping just waiting on a few other mods first.

Any ideas ?

new engine in the making if you carry on, 1.8 bar and not mapped for it is a killer.

No I don't think so.
It still drives the same, I was unable to monitor boost levels bofore that's why I fitted the gauges.

What eco and map is it running currently? If it has the mods you mentioned and a standard map or eco then it is definitely over boosting!

It has already been said in the 1st post that it's been mapped using ecutek.
I'm surprised it's not hitting fuel cut over 1.75bar?
Unless it has an updated map sensor. Afaik the standard map sensor should be rated to 2.75bar which would be 1.75 max.
I very much doubt that any mapper would set the boost so high on a standard uk2000.
Are you sure the boost gauge is reading correctly?
I would stay off boost until you sort this out.
Check all pipe work for splits, holes etc.

I interpreted that as it had an ecutek at some stage but might have been removed. Maybe I picked that up wrong.
