Default Defi experts? Help please?

Hi

I have just bought a defi gauge off a member on here which has 3 connections on the rear. I have just Checked mine and it has 2. I believe this is due to them being defi link gauges and the actual boost connector connects into the advance controller and tells the gauge.
If i fit the 3 connector gauge and leave the turbo sensor off the back of the back will the controller tell the gauge still or will the connector have to be plugged in to the gauge?

Thanks

You are right in what you're thinking, The sensors fit direct into the controller and then an output from the controller to the gauge tell it what to display, obviously the gauges are powered from each other with a daisy chain cable, it all depends if it's actually a link gauge youve got ...as you might have to wire the sensor direct to the gauge as Defi also do a range of stand alone ones and there are lots of copy's about too

I have sent a pm to the seller asking if he is sure these are genuine. From the defi site about genuine vs copies the screws are in the same place as the copies as the one I have just bought. Waiting for a pm. I currently have a white gauge in place and have bought this to make them all red so I will be able to tell when I compare it to the existing one

Actually the gauge I sold to Cam looks exactly like the genuine one pictured above, it is deeper than the rest, has the offset screw/bolts, indent in the back of the gauge and similarly 1-2 placed connectors.

I have since confirmed that the other gauges I had for sale are fake and i'll be disposing of them however the gauge + Sender that was sold to cam was tested and working with a Defi Control unit so it is exactly as ThePinkNinja stated it gets its signal/power from the control unit and daisy chain link cable

Like I said, I had no problems when I connected the gauge to the Defi control unit but i've already said I'm happy to offer a refund if there are any problems. Seems I got the short stick when It came to the gauge set i bought a couple of months ago on Scoobynet

That looks genuine, the top electrical port is for an extra sensor e.g shift lights etc
