Default Rev's jumping, Sti v4

Hi there,

So finally done my rebuild everything is perfect apart from when engine reaches normal operating temperture and the vehicle is left to idle the rews start slightly jumping in between 1k to 1500 rpm, when engine was build hoses were checked for cracks etc everything was done the car previuos the build was doing the same even worse at times it stalled itself on junctions and stops was reving much higher up and down until it cuts off if i dont keep the rev up.
Car drives, boost's as it should its a version 4 sti the rebuild was done with stock/genuine parts tried connecting fault reader didn't find anythin any help would be appreciated.

Regards

Tad

Code reader won't work on v4
Use the cars built in diagnostics(black read plugs under steering column).
Could be a number of things causing it,faulty iacv, faulty lambda?
Give the throttle body a clean.
I presume you used new gaskets on the inlet manifold?

That was the plug we used it be honest it wasnt even connecting to the vehicle, inlet Gaskets new and genuine, throttle body was sparkling clean prior build and was cleaned before putting on, can lambda be inspected?

So when you connected the black plugs together the cel didn't flash at all?
Have you tried black to black and green to green to see if you get into reset mode?
Are you running standard ECU?

what loads? are you plugging in an obd reader? they dont work. under the dash, near the sterring column ull find a pair of black connectors and a pair of green ones. they may never have been used before so might be taped up fairly high. when you find them, with the ignition off, plug the black connectors together. turn on the ignition and look at the check engine light on the speedo cluster. count the flashes. long flash is 10, quick flash is 1. constant on off on off means no codes. come back with what you find
