Default ACL race bearings Vs King race bearings

Planning an engine rebuild and looking at getting the best parts I can. So during my research it appears King make extremely high quality bearings for both big end and mains and I was wondering if anybody has any experience with King?
Stick with ACL as most people seem to or give King a try?
Thanks.

Don't even think of using King bearings, horrible things, very bad finish on them, to the extent that they look like they have missed the final finishing, in my opinion.

Have a search on 22B forum for King bearings.

Use tried and tested...for where they are you dont wanna be having to swap them, they are not the most expensive item but can be the most troublesome if you have issues with them.

I have read ACL are inconsistent and you need 3 or 4 packs to pick out similar sizes just to build one engine, is this not the case?

I have also read Mahle bearings are supposed to be good?

All bearings from batch to batch vary very slightly, ACL made in the USA not Australia are not brilliant, never had much variation with ACL Australian bearings, Mahle big ends are very good, twice the price of ACL, but they don't do a -.001" like ACL do in the HX range, so if using a Arrow crank you will struggle to get enough clearance with just std bearings.

Default Dilemma

This is a issue & I hope may have a solution sorted.

We don't use Acl or King bearings & will not.

Standard mains excellent quality & Mahle msport big ends, this is a very good /sound setup.

We are currently organising a quality main bearing option.

All the best
