Default Missing pipe? Impreza p1

Hi, I'm wondering if any one could help me out? I've been out cleaning the engine bay of my Impreza p1 and have noticed a missing hose, underneeth the intercooler on the right hand side there's a shiny open end which looks like it's had a pipe on it but it's missing, the car almost stalls unless I place my hand over it and cover the hole up and then it runs fine, if I follow the remaining pipe back it seems to go into a metal pipe then rubber then goes into just before the turbo, any ideas what should be on there? Thank you for any help

Its the connection for the recirc pipe on the standard dv from what I can make out, you need to block it off with a bung as It looks like like your running a blitz vta dumpvavle?
