Metal alloy wheel valves
#1
Does anybody know where I can buy metal alloy wheel valves. The P1 has short dark grey wheel valves which I really would like to source?
Thanks in advance

I just had an alloy wheel replaced under warranty. When the car came back it had a cool shiny alloy valve cap.
Alloy changed by dealer at National tyres.
Sounds like all the tyre dealers have them now.

I think all you need is a metal cap with a rubber seal. A secondary seal prevents air loss should centrifugal force at high speeds open the valve. These caps come in various quality of production. Halfords do a cheap and cheerful version which are currently gracing my car.

Halfords sell them.
But be aware......sooner or later some scum-bag will have them off your car. After replacing 2 sets I have given up with the flash ones and am sticking with the standard black ones.

Used to happen a lot to BMWs. The valves had a BMW logo.
Buy your flash alloy valves and also have a set of the plastics.
Only use the nice valves when you go posing on the club meets.

Thanks for the replies. My post must have been a bit vague. I meant the wheel valve stems, i.e what you screw your valve cap onto. The P1 had v.short dark grey metal valve stems which looked great.
Any ideas, I can only find standard metal ones.
thanks

cant you just buy some of the metal valves, and spray them, then get them fitted to your car?
Bugger, just thought, the ones I am on about are flush fitting, you get an adapter that screws in to allow you to inflate, looked very good when I saw them, meant to invest in some, cost was about £30, but bear in mind you need tyre off rim to fit, so its going to cost!
Otherwise, if they are fitted to P1, wait till its released then buy from dealer, they should be able to supply by then (if not now) as a subaru part!
