Default stalling and idle control valve

on my wr1 had issue with stalling, update today the car had attempted to stall few times so when the car arrived home from my wife working attemted to get the control valve off and replace with a fresh one from a runner with a new gasket once all tightened down and started car noticed a hissing noise and found that the t piece for the dumpvalve was broken and sucking in air now i wont know if this was the problem to start with and dont want to take off again as new gasket replaced , the issue i have now is the management light is on so does it need re setting or not as car will not be run until tomorrow
also the part i have replaced with was from a jap import not sure if same as uk spec
