Driver's door lock
I've noticed that my driver's door lock is no longer functioning correctly.
If I lock the car with the fob, all the doors lock including the tailgate ('02 Wagon). However, the driver's door will still open about an inch and then gets caught on the latch presumably. The handle is still activating the lock mechanism, whereas the other doors, the handle is free (no lock interaction). This then sets off the motion sensors and alarm.
I have recently put new batteries in the fob but doubt this is the cause. Where is the best place to start investigating - electrical or mechanical? I guess it could be the solenoid not actuating the lock correctly when the fob is pressed or the actual lock mechanism itself? I should probably try locking it with the key first?
