You will only be able to see the top of the Pistons with a bore scope and maybe I little sidewall. If you use a bore scope which is just a camera on a cable then it might be hard to get it into the cylinders and to navigate once in. I bought one with a little lcd screen and hard flexible cable it came with a few attachments hook, magnet and mirror now the mirror was angled at 45* so when clipped on it allows you to see 90* from the direction of the lens. With that attachment you theoreticaly shoud see the cylinder walls as well.
As for compression tester I used a Rolson no name one came with all the various plug size attachments and has served me well.
I have a Bergen compression tester on its way so hopefully should do the job ok.
I have been told tho,if it's a cracked piston then the compression tester might not show this up on a test.
