The restrictor in the picture Jay posted up is an aftermarket one which is needed when a braided oil supply line is used.
The OEM banjo bolts for the VF roller bearing turbo's do have a restrictor on them in the form of a small drilling in the side of them to restrict the flow of oil.

Thanks Mike,

Do you know what the result would be if the bango bolt wasn't restricting the oil flow enough??

Do you know what the hole size should be and should it be through both sides or just though one side??

Sorry for all the questions

1, the car will be smokey and bypass oil through the turbo, also possibly reduce main engine oil pressure to the bearings.
2, The hole is 1.5mm in one side only.
3, I hope this helps.

The standard banjo and bolt will be fine, only needs restricted on certain types, i have a roller bearing garret turbo and needs a restrictor to stop the oil flow swamping the turbo with a flow rate too high, im also running a feed from the block to maintain good pressure. Non of that is needed on the turbo you have.

Yeh but the feed hole is much bigger than what is needed on a garret ball bearing

The restriction in the standard banjo is what the standard vf turbo needs hence the reason i said he does not need to restrict anymore all he will do is starve the turbo and shorten its life.

Im nae sure im with ya. 1.5mm restricted hole is standard equiptment, thats what is required in the OP's instance. He is not running a garrett turbo that would require a 1mm hole with subaru's high oil pressure.
