Default Subaru hatchback alarm

Hi am new to the forum and was looking for advice I have a 2010 model Subaru Impreza wrx hatchback and was wondering if there is a way to make the alarm beep when locking and unlocking the car???? The manual only refers to hit to increase or decrease the volume of the beep!! Can anyone help??

Thanks

Try looking here, there is a list of the hidden codes. I think yours will have an S30 unit, but the codes are basically the same. I used the same details to turn on the beep on my MY11 hatch. Be aware this is not strictly legal as I believe lock, unlock beeps are no longer permitted. But if you set the beep volume to quiet it's hardly a noise issue to anyone.

You've clearly not heard the locking beep on one of these then! Even if the neighbours were using a GCHQ listening device, they would be hard pressed to make a complaint about the sound it makes.

Read through this...
http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/uploads..._m30_codes.pdf
It might help.
I also remember having difficulty in getting it to work initially, its all down to timing...

You need to start with the alarm armed. Then disarm and enter the * 17856 within 30 seconds of disarming the alarm. But you mustn't rush entering the pin code, you need to see the keypad led flash once after each button press. Oh and if you take longer than 10 seconds to press a key the alarm will exit programming... Have fun, it is possible.

I also activated a number of other functions at the same time: Door open warning, Auto-lock, Auto-rearm all detailed as dealer activated options in the alarm operating instructions that came with the car.
