Default hi, im new here and seeking advice!

Firstly, im totally sorry if im posting in the wrong section!

So im looking at getting a subaru hatchback (the 07-2012 shape), from what ive read i think im after the 2.0.

What id like to know is reliability/ what im looking for when vewing them etc?

the reason for this particular model is that its a family car so want the isofix seat brackets, and ill also be fitting a tow bar on it to tow a small caravan. Does anyone know the towing weights/limits of it?

Any help greatfully recieved! Im a honda girl usually so not very clued up on scoobys!

Thanks in advance!

They don't do a 2.0 from 07-12 they are all 2.5.

Only the JDM hatch is a 2 litre engine and you will pay a premium for one, if there is any for sale currently

As above really. The older scoobys 2001 + have isofix. For me the blob eye shape is the best value for money when it comes to reliability, looks, residuals & boot space :-)

I take it your after one of the 2.0 petrol non-turbo models like this?

Towing weights...Towing Capacity Subaru Impreza 2.0 R Sedan

The 2.0 should be a reliable car as it doesn't seem to have any engine issues like the 2.5 turbo or the 2.0 Diesel models.

Wow what a bunch of dumbass boy racers you must be to think every scooby owner wants performance. I've had s2000's, import del sols and know my Hondas inside and out. So I come onto scoobynet to get clued up on a car I'm not familiar with and the only helpful person is Johnny subaru! Yes Johnny that's the model I am on about and thank you for your help with towing details.

Towing capacity of the 2 litre is 1200kg (braked trailer) I believe. It will make a very good tow car, especially with awd, the hi/lo gearbox and hill holder. If looked after, it should be very reliable and durable. Non-turbo Subarus are a different beast to the turbos, not many people 'get' them. Especially on this forum it seems.....

I've got a 2.0 n/a hatch with the removable tow bar. Tows great, though I only lug motorbikes with it, nothing particularly heavy.

Yeah this forum is mostly swordfights between WRX and STI owners, so I just lurk as that's not my interest these days, though it can be fun to sit back with some popcorn and watch the dramas unfold. I like the 2.0 as it feels glued to the bumpy, greasy roads round here (lack of power means the tyres are not exactly overwhelmed!). If I want performance, I switch to a 1-wheel drive vehicle

You ride a uni-cycle for performance?

Ah, perhaps I should explain how caravans work. You see, it's not permanently fixed to the car. You can actually unhitch it, and drive the car on it's own. Which is what I do for 99% of the year. So no, it's not wasted

I merely disagreed. You really don't need an Outback to tow a small caravan.

Why, is that what you intended? Hey, if you want to be patronising to a new member on their first post, go ahead. It's not a good look though

Totally agree - I tow a Sterling Sprite 450EB caravan with ease with my 2006 (Hawkeye) R Sport wagon - had to upgrade the front brakes though as the standard 2 pots where not good (for info I've got the wrx pro 4 pot calipers with mintex 1155 pads).

It tows well as its the 160 bhp version and the low ratio gearbox is a help on wet/steep grassy fields - the hill holder clutch is a very welcome bonus as well.

I also agree with Sad Weevil re: the non turbos being misunderstood by most of the users on this forum - I do miss the old forum www.imprezasport.net

I hope this helps.

Andy

For what it's worth, darling, I think it's admirable that you have recognised a turbo model would be too powerful for you and have opted for the more manageable non-turbo. Good on you, babe!

Please don't let any of the condescending, sexist pigs deter you from posting in future. In a bit, honeybunny xx

You want to watch out she doesn't reply to you with your other username carcnut.
Then Youll have to cry and get the comment removed
Or you could tell her about the 2.5 not being rubbish really like YOU did with the username before that!

Yes three ,the first one when you made yourself look stupid arguing about the 2.5 not being rubbish because you bought a 2.5 wrx.
Then the second one "carcnut" where you spouted rubbish about cars you read about somewhere.
now the one you use now which is similar to carcnut really.
Adult????

Finally, regards the comment to the OP, the sexism in my post was so overt it was blatantly tongue-in-cheek. And it contained more wit than any post you've ever made, even if I do say so myself! If you check my past posts - I know you do, as you seem to be obsessed with me - you'll see that I never abuse new members - in fact, I usually welcome them - nor do I abuse anybody unless they deserve it. The OP was rude to Busta, Banny, Serpico, and S204Darren, calling them "dumbass boy racers", when their only 'crime' was trying to be helpful and erroneously assuming she was referring to the turbo hatch, which I would say is a fairly safe assumption, as the vast majority of members on here do have turbo cars. Therefore, I thought I would have a bit of fun back with her, hence my sexist post.

Comprende, ********?

Now you'd better get ready for bed, little boy - it's getting dark!
ok carcnut whatever you say

maybe being sad is hanging around a subaru website when you dont even own one anymore.........hey but thats just me.

There is no need to try and insult other members and swear ,this just shows a lack on intelligence on your part and furthermore against forum rules.

its members like you that are driving away new members with all the swearing and childish insults
