Have you included the Harvey Trick up-pipe in your calculations?

Lower spool and better torque, available now from AS Performance.

I'm going for a Borg Warner EFR7064 twin scroll on mine. Heard good things about it and should see me close to 450 at around 1.6+ bar! Spool wise, I will let you know as soon as it's on there, but a few people have been saying it's close to stock VF37 twin scroll (1bar at 2500ish and full boost by mid 3k)

I'd be very interested to see your results Gooch. Can I ask where you bought your turbo?

Another month or two until I get everything bolted on and mapped but I will post results up here. A rough estimate is 450hp/450ftlbs and near stock VF37 spool.

I bought it through Spool Motorsport Developments in Edinburgh mate

Hi Christian

I would probably go with SC42 or MDX321T or T36 from Engine Tuner, those three turbos should make yours target power without the questions, just you will need supporting mods and good mapper

We are run MDX321T on our wagon and this turbo has made 452bhp on V-power and on meth has made 490bhp

And yes I would go with Harvey Trick Up pipe too, this should help with better and faster spool up

Hope this helps

Thanks,Jura

This has been on 2.1L,Christian wants on his 2.2L where I would thought so will make full boost around 3800-4000RPM

Something like quick spooling 420-450bhp doesn't exist unless you have 2.5L or twin scroll with AVCS where I would thought so LM420 or SC42 TS etc will make full boost at those RPM

Hope this helps

Thanks,Jura

Hi there

Personally I would go with RCM headers as they're been proven on numerous cars,we are run them on our wagon at 555.5bhp

Tomei headers can be expensive, but if you can find GT Spec headers or Kakumei headers which will be good too,we are run GT Spec headers on 2.1L with MDX321T

And about the yours turbo choice, not sure if I would choose that turbo there, its bit unknown for me and remember friend run ATP turbo on his and he made close to 400bhp on his,but this turbo has been capable 500bhp,but he made 400bhp at 1.6bar

Hope this helps

Thanks,Jura

Hi Jura
I hope you are good
I am interested in your MDX321T figures
As a standard MD321T on V power will often make about 25hp less than the 450hp spec and give 425bhp

Now the MDX321T is billet, which helps with spool ect but I would not expect to see a much higher bhp gain. You saw 452hp on V power. Is this a one off or have you seen this consistently? In your experience is the MDX321T making a substantial chunk more of hp than the MD321T?

Cheers
Steve

And too the OP. I third it......Call Alyn at AS performance a get a Harvey up pipe to suit your turbo choice.

Hi Steve

I've seen several MDX321T which has making close to 450bhp or making very similar results to our,I think Steve@Stevesbluewrx from over here made 448bhp on V-Power and on 18-20% meth he made 482bhp on 2.0L STI with Alcatek ECU and sports cat

Non billet MD321T usually makes around 440bhp what I've seen and seen probably only few which has making more than 450bhp on V-power,on MDX321T I've seen several results and this turbo is capable to make 450bhp on V-power with right mods, our spec hasn't been best and we are never expected to make 490bhp on V-Power and 20% meth,on V-power we are been pleased to make 452bhp as this turbo is 450bhp turbo and worked as advertised and at 1.4bar we are made 425bhp and on 1.65bar we are made 452bhp on V-Power on 2.1L

In my experience and what I've seen and read, usually billet turbo will spools better and will make bit more power,I remember friend has run GT3076R on his Subaru STI for several years,he made 510bhp on V-Power at 1.9bar,later on he get his GT3076R billeted and he made 540bhp at 2.0bar on V-Power,now about the difference between MD321T and MDX321T,on MD321T I've seen usually on meth at higher boost 470bhp and on same car with MDX321T car has made 480bhp with less boost, not sure if someone has made more on MDX321T than we are,I've seen usually on meth from 478bhp to 490bhp on meth,on V-power I've seen from 440bhp to 460bhp

But yes I've seen too on MDX321T lower results like 430bhp,but this has been down to setups like exhaust limitation,TMIC and stock MAP sensor or headers etc, this turbo is suited 2.1L and 2.0L with AVCS,not sure how this turbo respond on NON-AVCS WRX heads with 2.0L,but I would expect this turbo can be laggier(AVCS usually makes difference on spool up not on top end)

Hope this helps with yours decision as really I'm speaking from my point of view,we are run this turbo on our wagon and we are loved that turbo on 2.1L

Thanks,Jura

Hi Jura
Thanks for your detailed input, I am always interested other experiences.
I have seen 440ish also on a 2.5 with a MD321T
I remember Charlie and Simon at Surrey Rolling Road saying an MD often gives 25hp less on pump fuel. I do not have any experience on how the non billet or billet compare so that info was interesting.
Cheers
Steve

I run run a MD series turbo a T+ non billet
