Default Drop links - New bushes or replace

Hey,

2005 Blobeye wagon.
I noticed that the rubber bushes on the front Drop links are perished. Do I replace just the bushes in the standard ones or buy new links?

Depends what you want. New bushes, (standard ones), will keep the car as is. Solid droplinks or stiffer bushes will tighten it up a bit, at the expense of NVH.

If going solid, I'd do the rear as well

Thanks for the swift reply alcazar.

What about using powerflex bushes in the standard droplinks. Will the plastic links cope with the stiffer bushes ok?

That's what I've done on my blob wagon and they've held up fine, see link to my thread:

Thanks Modrich, I had seen you're thread and that's the reason for this one

I wanted to see if anyone else had uprated the bushes in standard links.

I'm go into do the same as you but for both the front and rear links. I also have a 20mm ARB to fit thanks to your thread

That's good, glad my threads been of some help. Really love the way mine drives on the sometimes rough/broken A&B roads round here, hate it when things get crashy but none of that with my set-up, it's all simple stuff but works very well. Hope you find the same.
