Bp ultimate kills Wrx uk300?😳
So I picked my Subaru, 2001 uk300. The car had its engine changed in 2007 to a 2.5 bottom end, the car has bigger td05 turbo other upgrades ,built and mapped to 321bhp by engine tuner Plymouth, the guy said he pretty much always ran the car on vpower shell petrol, after buying the car I made my way home in it, I had to cover 300 odd miles, after 100 miles I stopped for fuel at a bp petrol station, I put 30quids worth of bp ultimate in it and carried on, sitting at 70mph , after a further 100 miles the car breaks down,
Piston failure,
It's my 1st subaru , could the fuel really honestly of killed the car or is it just unlucky ?
I'm now having to have an engine rebuid, so my other post "which engine should I have"
I'm totally gutted 😳

Although BP Ultimate isn't, supposedly, the best of fuels, if you had driven away gently and then cruised at 70mph I doubt it would have been the cause of a failure.
But if the map was maybe a bit "on edge" and you (say) gave it some beans pulling away from the petrol station and then, maybe, had a "play" to see how well it pulled in top gear (you know what I mean) then it could have hastened the demise of an engine that, perhaps, didn't have long to live anyway?
