poor feel from brakes
Is there any way to identify the problem of a fully compressible brake pedal, it passed its recent MOT ok (I specifically checked the brake performance report and it was ok). I am not sure if I am being paranoid but for some time I have felt that they are just not as sharp as I would expect especially after fitting the godspeed brake upgrade and pads.
When I brake there is resistance on the pedal but I can push it all the way to the floor.
Car is 2003 blob eye WRX fitted with Godspeed upgrade kit (standard calipers fitted with spacers and larger disc / pads)I bought these with Ferodo DS2500 pads. I asked the fitter to fit these and bleed the system (as the original problem was glazed front pads so the fluid could have been cooked). I also had braided hoses fitted.
Car is used as a daily driver mostly
I did ask for the brakes to be bled but is it worth double checking this?
could the master cylinder be on it's way out so not failing but not producing full pressure?
can I test and eliminate one of these possibilities?
cheers

Might be worth getting an assistant to firmly press the pedal while you check the hoses as one could be expanding with the pressure instead of it going to the calipers.

Sounds like there's still air trapped in the system - if you pump the pedal multiple times does it eventually hold firm, or does it continue to drop? If air's been pulled into the M/C then it could easily have tracked into the ABS system which is a complete git to bleed if the air's trapped. Sometimes it's easy and quick to get out, but a couple of cars I've done have taken a litre of fluid and a lot of cursing. If you paid for it to be bled then I'd take it back and tell them it's not been done right. Check the fittings too, it may well be they haven't been tightened up properly. It should be easily identifiable as a wet patch on the offending connector though, without having to go round and physically check the tightness.

Thanks chaps,
Kevo,
I had new braided hoses fitted at the same time so I would assume that this wouldn't be a problem.
ST-X,
ok, so it could be that the brakes were bled but not fully or very well. It will be going in to my local specialist soon for a new rocker cover gasket so I'll ask them to have a look and see if the garage who originally fitted the brakes didn't completely remove all the air. I'll be paying twice but I'll have peace of mind and that's important when brakes are concerned.
Just one question, if I pump the pedal and it eventually goes hard does this indicate trapped air whereas not going hard after pumping points to a faulty master cylinder, is my thinking correct?
