Default IHI VF32 Turbocharger

Hi all,

Can anyone comment on whether an IHI VF32 turbocharger out of a Lagacy would make a good upgrade/swap for the standard TD04 providing a remap is done.

I can't find any info on it.

Thanks.

No a Vf32 would be no good for anything but fitting in a legacy twin turbo.

You'll notice that a vf32 turbo doesn't have a wastegate fitted

The turbo is not good enough to go to all that trouble. I reckon it's only marginally better than a td04

If you where to use it. You could probably fit an exhaust housing from a similar ihi waste gated turbo which would be easier than going external.

I just checked on my vf27 turbo which is about the same size as a vf32 turbo. I compared the size to a td04 and a vf24. The vf27 is considerably smalle than even the td04.

Therefore don't bother even thinking about using a vf27 or vf32 turbo on an impreza. Only useful on the legacy as originally fitted.
