Hi,
That is an oil gallery blanking plug, safe to remove it and seal the threads.

Are u sure? I thougth that the bolt closer to the crankcase breather was the oil galley plug?

100% sure.
The larger blanking plug (8mm allen key) is for the crankcase to be cross drilled at the factory for Number 5 main bearing oil feed.

The smaller one you have circled in the picture ( 14mm spanner size ) is also a cross drilling blanking plug for Number 3 main bearing oil feed.

The Version 1 to 7 engines have an aluminium washer under the blanking plugs and Version 8 onwards just use thread sealant on the blanking plugs.

Just make sure you clean the surrounding area before removing the blanking plug as you dont want any dirt ingress into the oil gallerys
