oil lekage by bolt und throttle body,
Hi! I think i posted my other post in wrong topic so i Will give it a try here.
I think my car is leaking oil in a bolt on top of the block under the intake manifold and im Wonder what the bolt is for? And can i remove it or will something come loose inside the engine? http://www1.garaget.org/gallery/imag...b39c_large.jpg This is The bolt, greatfull for fast anwsers |

That is an oil gallery blanking plug, safe to remove it and seal the threads. Mick |

100% sure.
The larger blanking plug (8mm allen key) is for the crankcase to be cross drilled at the factory for Number 5 main bearing oil feed. The smaller one you have circled in the picture ( 14mm spanner size ) is also a cross drilling blanking plug for Number 3 main bearing oil feed. The Version 1 to 7 engines have an aluminium washer under the blanking plugs and Version 8 onwards just use thread sealant on the blanking plugs. Just make sure you clean the surrounding area before removing the blanking plug as you dont want any dirt ingress into the oil gallerys Mick |

Thanks mate! But its a bit of pain to get the bolt off whit the intake manifold on place :/
