Default Twin scroll sump........

Hi guys,

I have managed to damage the sump on my 2004 sti engine so ordered a replacement.

I have today attempted to replace it but it turns out my sump is actually a twin scroll sump and the one I ordered is a standard single scroll.

I'm confused as to why it has a twin scroll sump fitted? Is it likely the engine may be a JDM engine?

Further more to fit the single scroll sump am I correct in saying I will also need to replace the oil pickup, dipstick tube and dipstick?

Thanks in advance, Ian.

Send the single scroll sump back and get a twin scroll sump. The TS sump is supposed to have much better oil control characteristics.

If you're adamant to keep the single scroll sump, you'll need a new dip stick too AFAIK.

Lots of people fit twin scroll sumps if they do e.g. track driving etc.
