Default Alarm sounds no start after battery disconnect

Hi guys,
I have a 2006 WRX and this morning I tried to start it but the alarm kept sounding. The dash lights would light after a bit of faffing around, however there was no crank, just a lot of clicking and then alarm again. Lights would not come on the keypad when pressing the buttons either.
The lights seemed a little dim on the dash but all present. I did leave the rear door slightly ajar (first click on lock) over night by accident.

I disconnected the neg terminal for about 30 mins on Saturday so wonder if this has something to do with it or the cold and a flat (ish) battery.

Any help would be great.
Cheers,
Andy

Charge the battery or invest in another.

If it's the battery You're better off charging it over night. Jump starting it won't really help.

Just going to see if another battery will allow it to start and disengage the alarm/immobilizer. If it does, I know it's a flat battery and I can then charge one or get a new one.

Needs a new battery I think. When mine gave up last winter was doing the same thing. Alarm was beeping and starting motor was just clicking as there wasn't enough power in the battery to turn it. New battery and everything was back to normal.
