'Check engine' light won't go off
I have a 1994 wrx classic jap import, the radiator blew the other week and I've just fitted a new aluminium one. My problem is, the 'check engine' light won't go off. There's plenty of water in the system and topped up with coolant but the light will not go off at all...? The only other thing I done was remove the aircon, would that have anything to do with it? The car has been sitting not being used as month or two as I couldn't afford to buy a new radiator at the time it went, which brings me to my next problem.. When on hard throttle the car misses an backfires which it has never done before even with been sat for a while, now I did put a cone airfilter on an recirculated the turbo but then put the BOV back on when I was putting the radiator in, would it be something to do with the cone filter and BOV not agreeing or something? Because before I put the BOV back on it was running and boosting 100%
I've owned the car as year and a half an this is the first it's ever gave any bother.. The radiator blowing is scaring me at the thought it could be one of the head gaskets or something :/
Sorry for the essay but as I say I've never had any bother before so I'm not sure what the weaknesses of them are
