Default fueling issue............

right i seem to be having a slight fuel problem with my 2.5 blobeye-i shall try and describe it below from both hot and cold starts

-starting the car from cold.........

the car turns over fine and fires into life without fail BUT the life it fires into isnt the best as at 1st its sounding like this........put-put-put-put-put for around 3-5 seconds then she settles into a nice tickover, there is a strong smell of fuel aswell

- driving the car

when cruising along in say 3rd or 4th and you take your foot off the gas to coast and you put your foot back onto the gas there is a loudish pop from the exhaust, also pulling away its seems a bit hesitant almost like its holding back.when up to speed and on boost etc she is fine

- starting the car from warm

she fires into life straight away and there is no lumpy idle etc but after 3-4 seconds she cuts out,she will start again and the same happens unless you give the throttle a blip then she seems fine

there is no smoke of any colour from the exhaust and no leaks that i can see

I would check you have no air leaks between the turbo and the air filter , check also all vac lines to inlet manifold

+1 madmilligan
check your vac lines for any damage and also check the seal of fuel pump - you are having the exact problem I did before my rebuild.

Hi there

What ECU are you running and who mapped the car?

I would say, this can be the Lambda sensor or as above air leaks, please check the intercooler pipework etc

Or this can be just simple thing, like fueling/idle needs to be sorted by mapper and adjusted to current weather etc, this happens to us too several times and this can be sorted very easily by yours mapper

Thanks,Jura
