mine was hesitating under acceleration a while ago, turned out it was detting due to underfuelling, cause was a kinked fuel pipe (caused by a Rotherham based Subaru specialist), no warning lights showed, but it could have killed my engine

another time it was hesitating, the CEL eventually lit, the fuel pump was fubarred and it was running lean

what air filter have you got?
how old is the fuel pump?

Thumbs up Update to problem

The problem is now resolved thanks to interpro Bristol.
it turned out to be the second small cat ! which was removed and a non catted uppipe was installed along with a fuel pump car now remapped and
pulling 244 bhp on the rolling road. not cheap but big smiles when accelerating lol.

glad you got it sorted and you are happy with the remap

but how come only 244bhp? surely it should be 260bhp+?
when my blob was standard with 100k on the clock, it was rolling roaded at 242bhp

what kind of speed are you hitting at 6000rpm in 5th gear - could be speed limit still enabled in the map?

ok so 60mph in 5th gear then you get what some kind of splutter. What boost is showing on your gauge when this happens and do you still have the stock uppipe cat in place?

Best guess is going to be over boosting due to the map and the big exhaust. You'll have to get a boost gauge tho its a great early warning sign of problems.
