Lowering springs
Hi chaps i want to lower my hawkeye just wondering what springs are the best
I dont want to go mad just enough to take away the jacked up rally stance it comes a standard with iv put a carbon chin spoiler on and as it is at the moment i looks a bit comical.
Also iv changed my dump valve for a hks ssqv 4 rather than a forge thing
Why would the car pop through the exhaust more or back fire
Cheers chaps

First off, don't lower more than 25-30mm MAX, unless you want to either spend big money on suspension changes, or lose the handling due to lowering the roll centre too far, inducing roll.
As for the d/v.
The Scoob ecu runs a Mass Air Flow meter, MAF. It measure the amount of air entering and adds fuel for it.
if the dumpvalve dumps metered air OUTSIDE the system, the fuel still gets added, resulting in pops and bangs as the car runs rich.
Sadly it also results in borewash, dilution of oil and can result in CAT damage, and burnt valves

If your cars a WRX then I can recommend PCA Dynamics (Prodrive) springs I've just fitted here: https://www.scoobynet.com/1004847-fo...l#post11522073

Having run Prodrive and Tein lowering springs on a WRX and an STI I would say the Tein were the better handling of the two.
The Prodrive felt too hard for my liking and I found them quite crashy over potholes whereas the Teins were more progressive.
Given the choice I'd go for Tein over Prodrive. The paint on the Teins also didn't seem to flake off as badly as the Prodrive.
