Default obd2 on classic?

hey peeps got a 98 s reg turbo wagon with a obd2 port under steering wheel anyone used this port or no a scanner that will work?

Subaru are not OBD compliant until new-age unfortunately

I think late 98 onwards do have OBD sockets. Mine has SSM or whatever it's called as mine is a 97 car.

as above its there for the Subaru Select Monitor but doesn't comply with OBD2 connection

I have a v reg 2.0 wagon and although my obd2 plugs in there is no response from it when put on Subaru or others but I thought all cars after 98 were supposed to be obd2 compliant or does it only apply to the states

only applies after around 01/02 in the UK...........

new-age Impreza's are compliant but nothing older

its pretty useless unless your remapping , im not sure what its actorly for ? you can scan the ecu for fault codes with the plugs under steering column

na rite under the column where the pedals are theres 2 black 2 green , have a search on here how to do it mate, yo7u can read what codes are presant and then clear and reset the ecu

make sure you read the instructions a few times, can be tricky reading the codes , as it flashs the checkengine light you have to count the flashs
