Default Can anyone tell?

right i have a uk 2000 turbo classic

blitz induction kit- dump valve- full exhaust from manifold to back box

whats worrying me is the fella i bought it off said he never mapped it.
but not sure if any one previously had done so.
turbo kicks in/spools around after 3200 rpm
my car holds boost around 15psi on v power but changes on normal fuel (lower boost)

Is it possible to find out if my cars been mapped by any of the previous owners without a computer hooked up to it?
or could my car be running mad due to mods and incorrect setup on ecu?
it doesnt back fire or hold back on v-power.

i have done a full ecu reset yesterday and it still boost around 15psi.
im told my car should only be running around 8-12 psi max standard!!!

Hi there

Only way how to know if has been mapped, you need to talk to EcuTek dealer and he should know if yours car is in database,as yours car can be mapped only via EcuTek or EcuLab and then only aftermarket solutions

Or you can try to put car on the dyno and if you will see figure close to 260-280bhp with nice AFR then I would suspect car has been mapped,if car is running rich/lean with those mods, then I would suspect hasn't been mapped at all

Thanks,Jura

if afr is wrong engine could very easily go boom, afr = air fuel ratio

Best way is put car on Dyno and you will know for sure,if Dyno operator can do for you knock check then this will be perfect

I would recommend you to use highest RON fuel such as V-Power or Tesco T99

And if car is not mapped and you have more mods etc I would strongly advise to have car mapped

Older classic are more forgiving to mods and I know several people which running unmapped car for several months without the issue, this is not case to everyone, really depends

If you want to be 100% sure please speak with yours nearest Subaru specialist and ask him for health check(AFR,Knock, det and compression)

Thanks,Jura

Usually with decatted exhaust you will see increase in boost as there is no longer restriction, which can means yours car is overboosting, which can be bad in many ways, but without the listening to knock/det hard to say/tell

Thanks,Jura
