Default Valves lifting open on high boost ?

Has anyone had this as I've never heard of it happening before , basically my v2 was mapped the other day and couldn't really get anywhere with it as as soon as it hits high boost it lifts the valves open and blows the spark out etc etc , ment to be comon on the v1/2 engines ? Ment to be due to the hydraulic lifters not holding the valves down enough :-(

Yes common on v1/2. Its the valve springs not strong enough to shut the valves.

Engines are 20+ years old now.

The engines need refreshing to be 100%. New bearings, gaskets, piston rings, valve springs and valves relapped.

I've just never heard of it before mine just wondered if anyone els had the issue , that's one of the things we said it's a 20 year old engine so not done bad really , just trying to find a v3 that's not knocking or had it's heads removed is proving difficult .

No mate it was mapped with Simon and he saw it on the data , upto 1 ish bar it's spot on after that it's to much and misfires as the fuel is going out the open valves . I just wanted to know if people have come across this too .

Nah mate taking the v2 engine out and trying to get a sti engine with solid lifters then I can go full boost which should be 1.6 bar I think or in that region :-)

The hydraulic lifters tend to 'pump up' at sustained higher rpm and hold the valves open.
If you can find a pair of STi V2 RA or STi V3~4 heads in good condition, it will solve your issue.

In an ideal world yea mate but the there's that many beif token or about to be broken I'm going to wait till a forged 2.0 with the right heads pops up or get a standard v3 and forge it myself .

It was not just the coils.

I map these cars daily. This car has valve bounce at high rpm.

I wasn't doubting this, just saying that the coil packs get old as well.
