Default Alarm going mental!! Blobeye 2004 WRX

Hi guys, new to the site as have just purchased a 2004 Blobeye WRX wagon. Been great until this morning. Went to unlock with fob and no joy. Used the old fashioned method to unlock her and alarm went off. No problem I thought. Key in ignition and wont turn over, popped the keypad down for security number and that didn't seem to work. So alarm just going mental as I sit there looking like a pleb. I close door and it sounds like central locking is rapidly going on and off continuously. Fob still not doing anything. So Im guessing the fob battery is flat. So she is now sitting on drive with main battery disconnected cuz she will alarm continuously if battery on. Its got a thatcham cat 1 alarm. Am on the way our to get new batteries for fob. If this fails, what else would you guys advise? Thanks. James

This happened to me when my main car battery was flat. I had to put a battery charger on it with the alarm going off for 30mins before it shut up.

If the battery is disconnected, maybe worth putting it on charge for a bit

Get your new battery for the fob then when you reconnect the car battery keep the drives door open.

Yes wide open, but not guaranteed it will work but has worked for me in the past. When it works for me though I normally have I working key fob.

If problem comes back you will probably need a new car battery. If the battery is old and doesn't hold enough charge when it drops below a certain level alarm is triggered. May have just needed charging up if car has been sitting around for a while.
