Remap or not???

Remap or not???
Hi guys,
I'm going to replace my v4 1998 sti type r engine (because I ruined it) with a fully forged, run in 2.0 engine with sti v4 heads.
As the engine is run in and is a standard 2.0 lump (but forged), can I just swap the engines and use my standard ecu with no need to remap?
Thanks

We don't know if the original engine failed due to low octane fuel on a Jap ECU. If so, the cost of a map will be insignificant compared to another rebuild!

IanK - we used hi octane fuel (99 Ron). But unfortunately, my mate installed a boost controller and was being an idiot and running 2 bar boost!!!
So I'm pretty sure the boost is the reason of the failure!! Idiot!!
